ShowMe That! Teach and Assess Students with the ShowMe App

The purpose of the session is to introduce ShowMe as an instructional and assessment tool for teachers, present examples of best practices in synchronous and asynchronous learning, and explain how ShowMe can best address the new Common Core Standards.

Objectives: Attendees will complete the following tasks/learn these topics by the end of the session.
- create a ShowMe
- post and share a ShowMe
- learn best ways to use ShowMe tools
- apply recording best practices
- create students accounts
- identify which CC standards can be addressed using technologies like ShowMe
- identify best practices for ShowMe at different grade levels and in all disciplines

The presenter will showcase some quality ShowMe's and provide recommendations for producing instructional videos. The presenter will also go over an example "flipped lesson" utilizing a ShowMe to model this type of content delivery.

- Introduction and history of ShowMe
- YT video of San Kim, CEO of ShowMe
- Personal experience and relationship with developers

- Present excellent examples of ShowMe's (no more than 2 minutes in length)
- Explain interface on iPad

- Student Groups
- Comment feature

- Common Core State Standards at multiple levels, and brainstorm w/ audience how ShowMe is an excellent tool to addressing those standards
