"How Educators Navigate the Rocky Road: aka, iPad Integration in the Classroom by Change Agents in Palo Alto "

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In this presentation, technology integration coaches from Palo Alto share their stories, ups and downs, hurdles, milestones, strategies, tips and tricks, and successes.

We have iPads? Now what do we do? Can we get apps? Can we have the same apps? Can we use iPads anytime? Should I learn the app? But an iPad doesn’t do everything a computer does.

These are just some of the questions that coaches face as they try and enable teachers to integrate technology seamlessly into their curriculum and classrooms on a daily basis. Trying to move the mindset of teachers from the drill and kill apps to meaningful, consistent, higher order thinking programs using the iPad is the goal.

The presenters will share their success stories, discuss various aspects of coaching, strategies, enabling the use of the iPad as a creative tool that have been incorporated as well as frustrations along the way.

The other aspect that will be shared will be leveraging the students, their abilities, potential and aptitude for picking up on new skills. Learn how a professional development plan was implemented using the teachers and their students together.

Student work and examples will be shared as well.
