Time to add, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and QR codes to the old 3 R’s. Go deep into building AR layers to add another dimension to learning objects. Animations, videos, images, and audio will bloom from everyday objects, the pages of a book, or old-school illustrations. Build simple VR’s that defy scale or explore those already built. Students with tablets or smart phones gain new insights, get more help. Begin with QR codes, the simplest of the 3 “R’s.” Explore how they work, how teachers use them, and what they offer teachers, students and parents. This session will explore how classroom teachers and students can build new layers of information with iPads and iPhones. Augmented Reality. Virtual Reality, and QR codes will featured and building them will be modeled AR and VR are like QR codes on steroids--new layers that enrich and enlighten. They are easily built with free software (AR, QR, and VR alike) and allow a more powerful use of existing resources. Finally, take a sneak peek into a very different future with AR controls for everyday items.
